​MISSION AND HISTORY

The mission of the Chinese Youth Club of Western New York is to spread awareness of the Chinese culture through events for the members of the local Chinese community. This club has been active since 1999, and we hope it will continue to grow throughout the coming years.

CONSTITUTION*
​

I. OBJECTIVES OF ORGANIZATION

  • A. To heighten the awareness of Chinese culture in the children of the community.

  • B. To aid the Chinese Club of Western New York in its events and functions, primarily those involving child members.

  • C. To promote and perpetuate fellowship among members of the organization and to cultivate a spirit of cooperation.

II. MEMBERSHIP

  • A. Membership is open to all persons grades 1 through 12 who either
    1. are of Chinese descent.
    2. have an active interest in China, Taiwan and/or Chinese culture.

  • B. Voting eligibility may only be granted if a person has submitted a written voting 
    application to the CYC officers. A member may only vote in elections if their
    application to vote has been approved and they are in grades 7 through 12.
    Members in grades 5-6 may attend elections but may not vote.

  • C. All members must have a parent who is a member of the Chinese Club of Western
    New York.

  • D. Duties and Privileges of the Members:
    1. All members must fulfill all obligations of the Club.
    2. All members shall have the right to elect officers for the organization.
    3. All members shall have the privilege of participating in all of the social activities and meetings.
